MWS (Muckle-Wells Syndrome): Noticing Symptoms

Onset of Symptoms
People with MWS (Muckle-Wells Syndrome) usually start having symptoms from birth. Occasionally, symptoms may start later in childhood.

Symptoms of MWS (Muckle-Wells Syndrome) can occur without any obvious reason. Only a few situations have been linked to starting or making symptoms worse. For example, symptoms can begin after a person is exposed to cold temperature or when the body is tired.

Duration of Symptoms
There may be days when some MWS (Muckle-Wells Syndrome) symptoms are not felt. When a person does have symptoms, he or she tends to get worse throughout the day. While some symptoms can last longer, MWS (Muckle-Wells Syndrome) symptoms last 1 to 2 days.

Discussing the Diagnosis
People may not know that they have MWS (Muckle-Wells Syndrome), but their symptoms will make them aware that something is wrong. If a patient suspects he or she has this syndrome, a doctor should be consulted.
